What Parents Are SayingAlyson had a great time—this is her third year and it seems that she not only learns more every year, but she always looks forward to going to the camp.
Thanks! -Masao Sasaki Darin had a great time at Camp. It took him a day to warm up to it, but in the end he was talking about coming to camp next year. Thank you, -Carol Ann Moriguchi Thanks again for another great year with Tanoshii. I look forward to sending both Maddie and my younger daughter, Hayden next year. Thanks! -Stephanie Lee I wanted to sincerely thank you for offering such a wonderful and enriching camp. I am so thankful my kids had an opportunity to be part of it and learn some fun and interesting things about their Japanese American Culture. My husband and I are both yonsei, and we do not know much about it ourselves, so we enjoyed seeing and hearing what our kids were learning. Both of my kids had a great week! They came home daily excited about what they had learned, and I so enjoyed hearing them singing the Japanese songs and having so much fun with the obon dancing and jan ken po tournament. Thank you!! -Wendy Shigemura |
What Counselors Are SayingIt builds a sense of community, whether it be among the campers or as counselors, both find a community they belong in through this experience.
-Kai Duchane (Tanoshii Fun Camp Counselor 2023-2024) It is really good experience for counselors to get out of your comfort zone and practice working with kids if that is something that you might want to pursue career wise. For campers, it is a really fun week where you get to learn a lot about where you come from and your culture that you can continue to practice throughout your life. -Rachel Wong (Tanoshii Fun Camp Counselor 2023-2024) Would definitely recommend this camp to expand your learning of Japanese culture and generally sharing new and familiar experiences with others in your community. -Leah Kataoka (Tanoshii Fun Camp Counselor 2023-2024) It kind of brings you back home, there’s something nostalgic about this camp especially if you’re Japanese American. There’s always room to learn more, and this camp is one way to uncover new life lessons. -Kaela Hashimoto (Tanoshii Fun Camp Counselor 2024) |
