Learn the basics of both Android and Apple phones or tablets.
Smartphones and tablets are not provided. You do not need to be a TNK member to take this class. Mondays FEB 10, 24, MAR 3, 10, 17, & 24 total 6 classes Classroom GVJCI NISEI VETERANS MEMORIAL HALL 1:00-3:00PM (1:00-2:00 PM Lecture and 2:00-3:00 PM Tutoring) Pricing: $10 per class $50 for full session (6 classes deal!) (must be paid in full at the beginning of the session) Free for JCI Gardens residents Schedule: Week 1 – 2/10- Components, Symbols, Glossary This lesson will cover the components of the smartphone, the different symbols used, as well as a glossary of terms to become familiar with when using your smartphone. Week 2 – 2/24– Screens, Settings, Control Panels This lesson will cover what is seen on the different screens of the smartphone as well as how to maneuver within the smartphone settings and control panel. Week 3 – 3/3 – Basic Functions This lesson will cover basic functions of the smartphone such as adding contacts, making phone calls, sending text messages and using the camera. Week 4 –3/10- Apps – Already Installed & Adding New Apps This lesson will explain what apps are and where to get apps for the smartphone as well as learning how to use a few built-in apps (calendar, maps, alarms, and memo) Week 5 – 3/17 – Apps – Useful Apps This lesson will explain how to download apps as well as demonstrate some apps that may be useful. Week 6 –3/24 - Data Storage/Wi-Fi/Storage and Zoom This lesson will discuss cell phone data usage, wi-fi connections and storage. We will also cover tips for using Zoom. |
