JCI Kendo Yakisoba Booth Volunteers
Gardena JCI Kendo volunteers and runs our Yakisoba booth each year at our Annual GVJCI Matsuri Fundraiser. It's the best yakisoba in town and our supporters and volunteers look forward to it each year! We hope you enjoy this BTS (Behind the scenes) video of what it takes to prepare for a busy weekend in the Yakisoba booth each year. You can hear JCI Kendo shouting "YAKISOBA!!!" Kendo, “the way of the sword,” is the art of Japanese fencing. Kendo is not strictly regarded as a Japanese martial art anymore. Today, Kendo has developed into an international sport that teaches not only skillful use of the sword, but mental and physical self-control and self development. Kendo also emphasizes honesty, integrity, and patience. As a non-profit organization, its sole purpose is to pass down the history, philosophy, and skills of Kendo to future generations. Their instructors are all volunteers whose reward and gratification is attained by assisting each student to grow in their proficiency of Kendo as they grasp a deeper understanding of the art.
