We invite you to join us at our 5th annual GVJCI Izakaya: a culinary fundraiser featuring specialty small bites, beverages, and music (with an izakaya vibe!)

Stop by anytime between 5 and 9 PM and enjoy delicious temaki and other tasty dishes made fresh by chef Mike Inouye: GVJCI Japanese food programs teacher and chef Gary Matsumoto: Azay Little Tokyo , drinks (including a special sake tasting hosted by Mutual Trading Company), beer, Aiya Matcha green tea and new this year - non-alcoholic  mocktails and Calpico White Peach, Mitsuya Cider and Juroku Cha!

​The mission of the Petersen Automotive Museum is to explore and present the history of the automobile and its impact on global life and culture. Chef Michael Inouye is born and raised in Gardena. He graduated from UCSD and went on to become a sushi chef working at the San Diego Fish Market for 23 years. Cooking is a passion of his that started back in grammar school. Now, he would like to share his knowledge with anyone interested.

Born and raised in Southern California, Chef Gary Matsumoto returned to the area in 2022 after spending almost thirty years in Hawaii. A graduate of the University of Southern California and the Kapiolani Community College Culinary Arts program, his experience in food and beverage runs the gamut of the industry. Training and progressing in the kitchen at Alan Wong’s Honolulu, he has also served as a Chef de Cuisine, Executive Chef, General Manager, Food & Beverage Director, and consultant, across a spectrum of different properties.
