About the GVJCI Car Show
Gardena once had a thriving car culture with people having not only the well-known muscle cars, such as the Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros, Dodge Challengers, Chrysler, and modified foreign makes such as the Datsun 510s/240zs and Toyota Celicas. With a mix of today’s versions of these cars and others, we would like to bring back fond memories of yesteryear and show how this car culture continues today.
In addition to the cars, we also have competitive and open class Pinewood Derby races, free games for the kids, an indoor vendor area and food trucks (Okamoto Kitchen and Handel's Homemade Ice Cream).

Welcome to our 1st Annual GVJCI Car Show and Pinewood Derby Race. If you're a scout or not and interested in racing your Pinewood Derby car in our competitive race category, stay tuned for more information and email [email protected] to express your interest. There will be 24 open spots. All racers will receive a complimentary lapel pin. There will be a trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Standard Official Scout Rules apply.
Pinewood Derby Fun Race
After the competitive race, we will have an open race for anyone who wants to race their pinewood derby car for fun. No rules apply. For those who have no cars, we will have cars available.
